The Bloody Beetroots are coming to Boston, and our good friend E-MARCE is hooking it up at Bill's Bar next Tuesday (April 7th). This is rumored to be the very last show at Bill's Bar (thankfully?), so we're pretty certain things are going to get crazy.

Get advanced tickets here:

Local DJ and friend E-MARCE currently has two nights that have been increasingly getting crazier (if that New Year's Eve THROWED party is anything to go by). Luckily for you, both of those parties are in Allston this week at Great Scott.

ICE CREAM SOCIAL ft. Chris Devlin (Spank Rock) and E-MARCE.
18+ and $10/$5 if you dress up.

Word is that Mister Girl of our very own ON THAT TIP / ROGUEWAVES will be covering this one. You can find him in that dark corner that you can people-watch from; he's pretty good at it.

THROWED (Valentine's Edition) is another 18+ night featuring E-MARCE and features B. Rich (FTW / Palms Out Sounds). Local clothing mecca Rescue will also be in attendance with $100 giveaways; you can bet we'll be pissed if you take that last pair Cheap Mondays with your gift card.

Although, my title may appear to be in the spirit of poking a little fun at Throwed, I am one hundred percent serious when I say that all of the above mentioned happened. With that said, I suppose that's why this particular evening at Throwed, I was somewhat impressed.

Normally, especially when it comes down to a lot of so called indie or electro parties in the area, it would appear that we are stuck between two different places. One place is what we think we should be doing when at these event's i.e bum-rushing the stage, because for some reason the song being played doesn't sound like the one played before it(not). Then on the other end,we are left with what we want to do at these events, and when those inclinations are followed we get the best party results.

I found, that last Tuesday , Emarce's Throwed incited and facilitated the later. In my humble opinion that is what created the energy (both negative, and positive) but that energy was authentic and unforced.

Although, obviously arriving drunkenly late in the true spirit of living on CP time, taking some at the time needed detours, and thus missing Mr. K's set.

I was extremely pleased by the sounds I was hearing from Emarce. This time around, Emarce definitely stepped out and took some audio based risks ( i wont get into the fashion ones...just kidding eric) that really paid off. Dare I say , but is Emarce finally coming out of his shell.
If so , I don't know if its god I should be thanking, but whatever it's about time.
However, our closer of the evening , Michael V definitely took the reigns where Emarce left off, although I am getting a bit tired of "Shut and Let Me Go (lazrTag remix), this beggar can't be a chooser. All things considered, as predicted almost a hundred posts back Mr V is becoming a force to be reckoned with.

Photobucket

In conclusion , I guess its safe to say every other week it's fun to pretend your 18, and I am most definitely looking forward to doing it again

x.

p.s dude outside of Great Scott that was requesting make out session with me ... I'll be djing Paper in roughly 3hours i.e meet me in the greenroom ;)

Mister Mutha-Fuckin Girl

It's that time again - yall have been messaging and asking what exactly ROGUEWAVES (Justincredible + Zak Broman) were playing last night @ both Circus' FUCK 2008 and Throwed! NYE.

Here's ur "French rap song with the killer Electro synth line" :

Here's ur "Zany Jap Electro synth line" :

Did you expect anything else from us? All about that global doin it right tip, yall.
Hey yall.

Now, you should expect a huge article (and video!) soon covering the madness that was New Year's Eve. Emarce tore shit up per usual, yours truly and Mister Girl were massively hyped, and Lipgloss & Cigarettes threw a killer set (they even use Traktor Pro, dawg).

Oh right, and the whole thing can be seen on Nicky Digital.com.

HERE'S A QUICK GLIMPSE, WAY MORE TO COME THIS WEEKEND (AND PRIVUS TOO)

So, apart from this being one of the more-hyped parties (250+ in attendance) on New Year's Eve (just got wind of this being mentioned in the Weekly Dig), I'm hoping yall will make it out to this after seeing us at Privus Lounge. Justin and I are double-booked.

Our apologies for not being able to post lately - we've been fuckennn slammed with busywork over the weekend preparing for the madness that is NYE. Please come out and show your support. We'll also be recording everything for an ON THAT TIP New Year's documentary.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT YALL

If you didn't know yet, On That Tip's resident DJs / columnists (ROGUEWAVES) (aka Mister Girl and Zak Broman) are going to playing New Year's Eve under Throwed with our good friend E-Marce.

ALSO;

MORE EXCITING NEWS TO COME
I SWEAR

<3

PS. Yall should check out CAMPUS tonight because we're probably doing the after party for that, too

I think.

The 90s just like the 80's, were a good time for everyone involved. However, unlike the 80's , the 90's knew when to stop, or at least I thought they did.

However, Middlesexx has decided for all of us that the 90's are still going on and will continue to do so until further notice. In the case of Yoyoyo 90's Jam - Wet Bandits Edition this isn't such a bad thing. Although, I complain about the "direction" that culture takes in its self-destructive circle, honestly we had nowhere left to go.

90's music , especially hip hop has always held a special place in my heart, and clearly the guys of "YO 90s Jams" know and appreciate this time.

Also, can you say an hour of real ass Jamaican dance hall, seriously all I was missing was the beef patty, coco bread (with cheese of course), and dodging bullets in the middle of Franklin Park.

I think its about time we start giving Throwed a little more credit then they receive. Out of the numerous shit shows I have attended, I have to say Throwed keeps up the pace by not only having great DJs but awesome live acts as well; i.e Hercules and Love Affair (w o r k ). Luckily, last night was no exception to that rule at all. Magic Don Juan Rimini's casual yet powerful approach to the art of djing truly carried this evening. I found myself a willing participant in the sound scape skillfully created, that ultimately resulted in the height of electro goodness.

but then again , I was rolling.
do what you will with that information .

Here it is .... drunken misplaced opinions to follow

hmmmmmn, we'll give it a 60-40 , although the last Throwed we attended actually worked us out quite nicely. So let's kick it up to 70-30?

Thursday Nov. 20

there's a lot of shit going down , so here's my feeble attempt at narrowing it down for you guys

Photobucket
I don't know what the fuck this is, but Ive never been and I gotta say I'm extremely curious to see what its all about.

Photobucket

I almost want to , but then I realized pedophilia is not a good look for me ... in this case it might be better for someone else , use your own discretion.

Photobucket

.... all IMO going to say about this party is,
"hate to say I told you so"

Friday Nov. 21

Obviously I will be at the Pill, because I am a slave to habit in all of the worst ways .... actually its awesome and works me out every time. However, if I was going to disregard my favorite Friday night rage fest.
I would suggest this hitting this up

Photobucket

I mean aside from Napoleon , not too many shitty things come from France ( actually, ignore that last part so my argument doesn't fall flat on it's face). Just check it out assholes.
