I'm pleased to say that I will be aiding in the production of a runway show on March 19th, showcasing the designs Daniel Hernandez. His fabulous clothes, which range from minimalist tailored pieces to diaphanous couturesque gowns, transcend the work of other successful Boston designers I've seen. It's nice to find true style in this city.

We are casting girls for the March show, this Sunday, March 1st a 3pm, at DH Studios on Clarendon and Newbury! I'd love to see you there if you fit the bill, or generally defy requirements with your level of fierceness...

Saturday night, I had the privilege of attending the new House of Blues opening party on Lansdowne St., which served as the perfect excuse to both purchase and debut the vintage feathered chapeau shown below. The lovely Saffron, who was with me at Poor Little Rich Girl in Davis Square when I bought it, was also sweet enough to document it for me downstairs at Circus later that evening. Photo by Saffron:

It really played up my newish Yves St. Laurent dress from Rescue, and gave me the pluck- HA, GET IT?- to push through such a stimulating (read: exhausting) evening.

At the opening, I also ran into the innately cool Susie G of Click/Clash, who entertained me with witty banter over the (open) bar and also snapped a pic of my hat.

A few odder highlights? Well, there were the multiple people who told me I have "such beautiful hair!" whilst mistaking my beloved topper for some kind of multi-tonal beehive wig. But perhaps the strangest encounter of the night came when a twentysomething woman cut through the crowd and petted my head, exclaiming "it feels like a kitty cat!" She then proceeded to say, while looking her cringing boyfriend right in the eye, that "kitty cats just like being petted the right way" in a sexy voice, before dramatically striding away. I suffer to think what that poor fellow was subjected to at the end of the night...

Stay tuned in the next couple of days for a big post from me on a salon re-opening, my favorite hairstylist Tobey Van O, and some great skin care products/tips.

Yall. There are only two good things that have happened to music this week. One being the fact that Institubes hard-hitter Para One has teamed up with (formerly) Massachusetts' finest San Serac to create Slice & Soda:

"She Knows" - Slice & Soda (TAKEN DOWN , BLAME GOOGLE)
http://www.myspace.com/sliceandsoda

The intro is a nice little soundscape that seems to emanate from Para One's lo-fi, dreamy synth lines as seen in his Naissance des Pieuvres soundtrack. Then it melts into San Serac's dirty bassline discotheque jams. It makes for an interesting listen.

And speaking of that sweeping "dreamscape" bullshit, let's talk about that Danger remix of my personal-favorites-that-you-can't-avoid-on-this-blog Empire of the Sun. They're just so zany!

Empire of the Sun - Walking On A Dream (Danger Remix)
(TAKEN DOWN, BLAME GOOGLE)

Danger tore shit up when I saw him in Montreal at Les Foufounes Électriques last summer. He's going stateside soon, but unfortunately doesn't seem like he's coming to Boston.

Whatever. See you this Friday.

Yet again, another busy week for ROGUEWAVES and On That Tip. You now have literally no excuse not to leave your apartment this weekend to come and see us.

We've been mercilessly putting together what's shaping up to be this Friday's biggest party in the Allston area. About $10 and an RSVP [ it being private and all ] will get you access all night to our private open bar. If you know us you've almost certainly already heard about it. Then, the following night, we'll be spinning with our friends Circus @ Privus Lounge.

GET INTO IT.

madness.
